About the course

Principled Presence: Leading Well in a Divided Culture is a six-session course for Christ followers who want to engage the world around them with both conviction and grace. Over six 30-minute sessions, we'll build a strong biblical foundation, establish the key principles that govern faithful engagement, and work through very practical applications for life at work, in elected office, in education, in healthcare, and in your neighborhood. You'll look honestly at where our culture actually is...no spin, no panic. You'll wrestle with the myth of neutrality and why there is no sacred/secular divide in a world where Jesus is Lord of everything. You'll learn from Daniel in Babylon, from the early church that reshaped an empire in 300 years without money or political power, and from believers throughout history who stood for justice and truth without becoming what they opposed. Most of all, you'll be handed a posture: full of grace and truth, refusing to partner with fear, unwilling to win a battle dishonorably. Because how we engage matters as much as what we stand for.

Dr. John Jackson

Dr. John Jackson is a dynamic and strategic leader who has demonstrated organizational leadership skills in his work with national and global organizations and ministries. He has written and authored ten books on leadership, cultural change, and spiritual formation and is a sought-after speaker, leader, and trusted advisor.Dr. Jackson has been a "Pastorpreneur" in the marketplace and in ministry while serving as a University President, Pastor, and Movement Leader. Dr. Jackson earned both his Ph.D. and M.A. in Educational Administration and Organizational Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara; his M.A. in Theology (Christian Formation and Discipleship) at Fuller Theological Seminary; and his B.A. in Religion (Christian History and Thought) from Chapman University. Dr. Jackson is married to Pamela and they have 5 children and 8 grandchildren (and still believing for more!)
